Two Dead and Three Injured in Tamhini Ghat Car-Bus Collision

A speeding car on the wrong side of the Pune-Mangaon Highway collided with a state transport bus, killing the driver and an elderly passenger.

The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near Kondekar village in Tamhini Ghat on the Pune-Mangaon Highway.
The car, a Maruti Swift, was descending a steep slope at high speed when the driver lost control and veered into the opposite lane.
Driver Manas Kumar Niranjan Sahu, 38, and passenger Sakhubai Tukaram Kangude, 65, were killed on the spot, while three others, including a seven-month-old infant, sustained injuries.
The injured survivors were treated at a local hospital and are reported to be out of danger.
A case has been registered against the deceased driver for rash and negligent driving under multiple legal provisions.
