Two Dead and Three Injured in Tamhini Ghat Car-Bus Collision
A speeding car on the wrong side of the Pune-Mangaon Highway collided with a state transport bus, killing the driver and an elderly passenger.
- The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near Kondekar village in Tamhini Ghat on the Pune-Mangaon Highway.
- The car, a Maruti Swift, was descending a steep slope at high speed when the driver lost control and veered into the opposite lane.
- Driver Manas Kumar Niranjan Sahu, 38, and passenger Sakhubai Tukaram Kangude, 65, were killed on the spot, while three others, including a seven-month-old infant, sustained injuries.
- The injured survivors were treated at a local hospital and are reported to be out of danger.
- A case has been registered against the deceased driver for rash and negligent driving under multiple legal provisions.
