Two Dead After Light Plane Crashes Off NSW Mid North Coast

Emergency services have recovered two bodies and parts of the aircraft after a crash near Nambucca Heads on Saturday afternoon.

A light plane crashed into the water off Nambucca Heads on the NSW Mid North Coast around 4pm on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Both the pilot and passenger were killed in the crash, with their bodies recovered by emergency services; formal identification is still pending.
The wreckage of the plane was located approximately 1.5 kilometers offshore, and parts of the aircraft have been retrieved.
The plane departed from a private airfield in Coffs Harbour shortly before the crash occurred.
NSW Police's Marine Area Command and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
