Overview

• On the eastbound M62 between J19 (Heywood) and J20 (Rochdale), a multi‑vehicle collision led to a full hold before traffic was released with one lane remaining closed for vehicle recovery.
• National Highways advised eastbound drivers to expect around 30 minutes of delay following the partial clearance.
• A separate crash on the westbound M62 between J24 (Ainley Top) and J23 (New Hey Road) initially closed lanes and generated heavy queues.
• National Highways data indicated westbound delays of up to about 90 minutes between J23 and J26 at one stage, before INRIX reported all lanes reopened with severe residual congestion.
