Overview

• Officers responded around 7:45 a.m. to a ShotSpotter report of multiple rounds fired on the 1400 block of Northwest 26th Street.
• Responding units found a male and a female City of Miami Police officer with gunshot wounds to their legs and transported them to Ryder Trauma Center.
• Both injured officers are expected to be OK, according to the on-scene reporting.
• Police said they arrested one man after he told them he was coming back to the scene, and they have another person contained within the search perimeter.
• A perimeter from Northwest 10th to 16th avenues remains secured with a heavy police presence, and residents and drivers have been urged to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
