Overview

• Contra Costa County prosecutors charged Justino Lopez-Perez with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, discharging a gun from a vehicle, conspiracy and related counts.
• Erickson Melendez was charged with conspiracy and discharging a firearm from a vehicle in connection with the Sept. 16 incident near Todos Santos Plaza.
• Concord police said deputies found and stopped the suspect vehicle about an hour after the victims arrived at John Muir Concord Medical Center.
• A third suspect was arrested the following evening, and investigators reported recovering evidence during that arrest and search.
• Police said the three wounded men are expected to survive and asked anyone with information to contact Detective Enrique Espino at 925-671-3426.
