Overview
- Police were called about 2am to reports of a home invasion at a Crystal Street property in Petersham.
- As officers set a perimeter, a white van allegedly struck a male sergeant before fleeing; he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where scans showed no serious injuries.
- Police located the van on Trafalgar Street and pursued it through multiple Inner West suburbs with support from PolAir and the Dog Unit before it stopped in Henley Park at Croydon Park.
- The 39-year-old driver was arrested after a short foot pursuit and the 41-year-old passenger was found hiding under a car, according to police.
- Both men were charged with offences including reckless driving, failing to stop and assist after impact causing injury, and attempted aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and are due in Bail Division Court on Sunday.
