Overview

• Rabbi Yechiel Michel Vishedsky, 84, a Kfar Chabad mashpia who sustained Chassidus under Soviet repression and later studied in Tomchei Tmimim and at 770, passed away on the first night of Rosh Hashana 5786.
• Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Kalmanson, 70, the longtime rosh yeshiva who founded and led Yeshivas Beis Dovid Shlomo in New Haven and authored respected Torah works, also died suddenly that night.
• The New Haven levaya for Rabbi Kalmanson began Motzoei Rosh Hashana and continued Thursday in New York, passing 770 Eastern Parkway at 2:30 pm with burial at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens at 3:30 pm.
• Rabbi Vishedsky’s levaya took place Motzoei Rosh Hashana in Kfar Chabad, and per his request he will be interred at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens near the Rebbe’s Ohel.
