Two Bay Area Women Arrested for Organized Retail Theft in Sonoma County

Suspects were caught with nearly $3,000 in stolen goods, and one falsely claimed to be 12 years old during the arrest.

Tawa Higgins, 36, and Corenesha Brooks, 29, were arrested on December 18 in Sonoma County during a traffic stop for vehicle violations.
Deputies found $2,845 worth of alcohol and beauty products in their car, believed to be stolen from at least five local businesses.
Brooks initially provided a fake name and claimed to be 12 years old, but deputies identified her and discovered an outstanding $250,000 theft-related warrant in Contra Costa County.
Both women face charges including organized retail theft, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy; Brooks faces additional charges for impersonation and the existing warrant.
The suspects were released on $30,000 bail each and await further legal proceedings.
