Overview

• The victims were identified as Surjyoraj Das (Class X) and Nilkamal Kalita (Class IX) after two days of search operations in the Kharkhari River.
• Das’s body was recovered at Payaranga in Boko and Kalita’s at Jambari in Chhaygaon.
• Both boys were hostel boarders of Sacred Vineyard Berean Academy in Rihabari, Chhaygaon.
• Officer-in-Charge Kamakhya Mishra said required student safety measures were missing and described the lapse as considerable negligence.
