Two Arrested Over Death Threats to Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde received death threats via email warning of a bomb attack on his car, prompting heightened security measures.
The Mumbai Police arrested two suspects, Mangesh Achyutrao Wayal (35) and Abhay Gajanan Shingane (22), from Buldhana district after tracing the emails to their location.
Investigators found that Shingane used Wayal's mobile phone to send the threatening emails, which were received by Goregaon and JJ Marg police stations.
The threat comes amidst reports of political friction within the Mahayuti alliance, with Shinde expressing dissatisfaction over reduced security for his party members and other political decisions.
Shinde, addressing the threats, stated he remains unafraid and issued a cryptic warning to his detractors, referencing his pivotal role in the 2022 government change.
