Two Arrested, Indicted on Capital Murder Charges in Tuscaloosa County Killings

Investigators say the suspects knew the victims.

  • Barry Donnell Craig, 51, and Wesley Alexander Rice, 31, are charged with two counts of capital murder, one count of murder and being prohibited persons in possession of a firearm.

  • The case involves the October deaths of Terance Smith, 43, found Oct. 20 in an abandoned house near his home on Old Fayette Road, and Erik Bradley Thomas, 37, found Oct. 23 by family in a separate abandoned house several miles away.
  • A Tuscaloosa County grand jury issued indictments on Nov. 25 that state both victims were shot.
