Police say the killings hours apart at the same East 59th Street home were separate incidents detected by ShotSpotter.

  • Cleveland police identified the suspects as Andrew Dillon, 33, and Richard Koballa, 45, and charged both with aggravated murder.
  • The victims were Joseph Anthony Szymkowski, 42, fatally shot outside his home around 2 a.m., and Alissha Brown, 36, found shot at the same address around 9:40 a.m.
  • Shaker Heights officers arrested Koballa after a brief standoff at the Kemper Court apartments, and a shelter-in-place advisory in the area was lifted following his capture.
