Overview
- Police say six people armed with hammers, pepper spray and a gun smashed display cases at Gold Rush Jewelers around 4:46 p.m. Saturday.
- One suspect pointed a firearm at employees, who were not physically harmed, while the intervening bystander was pepper-sprayed and treated for minor injuries.
- Four suspects escaped in a vehicle later found abandoned nearby that investigators determined had been stolen from Brentwood.
- With help from a sheriff’s helicopter and community reports, officers arrested 18-year-olds William Butler Clarence and Moshae Koron Howell after finding them hiding in backyards.
