Overview
- Saurabh Raikwar, 24, and Ritik Sen, 19, from Tikamgarh were arrested by Adilabad police on June 23 after a breakthrough in a probe into a work-from-home fraud.
- The duo operated under a digital marketing front and contacted nearly 900 potential victims each month via WhatsApp and Telegram to recruit commission agents.
- Victims were lured with promises of earning ₹2,000 to ₹8,000 per day for simple online tasks, resulting in fraud worth crores of rupees and a ₹5.03 lakh loss by Chenna Shivakumar.
- Investigators seized four mobile phones, a laptop, three bank passbooks, a keyboard, a monitor and a PAN card believed to have facilitated the scam.
- Special teams have been formed to pursue the remaining domestic and international operatives believed to number over 250.
