Two Arrested in Hull Funeral Home Investigation

Two individuals, a 46-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, have been arrested in Hull, England, on charges including prevention of a lawful and decent burial, fraud by false representation, and fraud by abuse of position.
The arrests are part of an investigation into Legacy Independent Funeral Directors, following concerns about the care of the deceased and the storage and management processes at the funeral home.
Police have removed 34 bodies from one of Legacy's branches on Hessle Road and taken them to a mortuary in Hull for formal identification.
A dedicated phone line has received over 350 calls from concerned members of the public since it was opened on Friday.
Legacy Independent Funeral Directors is a family-run business established in 2010, and police are urging the public to respect the privacy of the bereaved families affected by this incident.
