Two Arrested in Connection With Cambridge Student’s Park Murder

Detectives leading Operation Grasshopper are urging witnesses to come forward after two men were arrested in connection with the fatal Mill Park assault.

Overview

  • A 20-year-old EF International Language Campuses Cambridge student was found fatally assaulted in Mill Park around 11.27 pm on August 1 and pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Cambridgeshire Police identified 21-year-old Chaz Corrigan as the prime suspect and described him as white, slim and last seen wearing a fluorescent jacket.
  • A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder and a 50-year-old is held on suspicion of assisting an offender; both remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
  • The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit is leading the inquiry and continues to press the public for information under Operation Grasshopper.
  • EF International Language Campuses has organised counselling sessions and offered support to students and staff following the tragedy.
