Overview
- Police arrested a man in his thirties and a woman in her twenties from Rogiet on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death, as well as on suspicion of child neglect.
- Both suspects were released on police bail as inquiries continue following the incident at a home on Crossway, Rogiet, around 6pm on Sunday, when a nine-month-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The dog was a six-year-old male black XL Bully registered with Defra, which had a certificate of exemption issued in 2024 under the breed restrictions in England and Wales.
- Officers seized the family dog after the attack and it has since been put down as part of the investigation.
