Two Arrested After Morgan Hill Prowling Leads to School-Route Stalking

Detectives are seeking public tips in an active case that links a home intrusion attempt to a suspected tailing of a parent driving children to school.

Overview

  • Officers stopped a white Chevy on Sept. 24 after the victim reported being followed, detaining driver Darling Rivera Fuentes and passenger Oskar Ivan Molano Chavez.
  • Chavez initially gave a false name before police confirmed he matched surveillance from the prior morning’s prowling on Saffron Drive.
  • The resident reported her cameras went offline during the Sept. 23 attempt to force open a side gate, and detectives cited possible Wi‑Fi jamming that can disrupt signals while footage may still record.
  • Both suspects were booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, stalking, prowling, vandalism and providing a false name.
  • Morgan Hill Police named Detective Sgt. Sean Bayard as the contact for information as the investigation continues.
