Two Arrested After A38 Collision Leaves Driver With Life-Threatening Injuries

Derbyshire police are appealing for dashcam footage in an investigation of the collision that shut the A38 for over ten hours.

  • The crash occurred shortly after 8:50pm on June 9 on the A38 northbound near Findern by the A50 Toyota junction.
  • An Audi A5, BMW 3 Series, Ford Focus and an HGV were involved in the multi-vehicle collision.
  • The BMW driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
  • Derbyshire Constabulary closed both carriageways between the A50 Toyota junction and the A5132 at Willington until around 6:45am on June 10.
  • A man and a woman in their 20s are in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving as police seek witnesses and footage.
