Two A14 Crashes in Saxony Trigger Night and Morning Closures

Police attribute both collisions to driver error.

Overview

  • Around 10:15 p.m. Sunday at the Leipzig‑Nord onramp, a reversing BMW was struck by a taxi and became wedged against a guardrail.
  • Firefighters freed two people from the BMW who were taken to hospital for checks, and one additional person was reported injured and taken to a clinic.
  • The Louise‑Otto‑Peters‑Allee/A14 access point was closed for about two hours and both the BMW and the taxi were towed.
  • Around 4 a.m. Monday between Leisnig and Mutzschen, a Skoda rear‑ended a truck due to inattention, with no injuries reported.
  • The A14 toward Leipzig was initially fully closed before traffic was guided past single‑file, the Skoda was towed, the truck continued, and both scenes were cleared.
