Twitter Website Suffers Temporary Outage, Locking Users Out of Accounts

Thousands of Twitter users reported being unable to log in to the website for several hours on Monday.
The source of the technical issues was unknown and affected desktop web browsers but not mobile apps.
Down Detector received about 10,000 reports of problems accessing Twitter.com in 60 minutes.
The outage began around 3 p.m. Eastern time and lasted for roughly three hours before being resolved.
Twitter did not comment on the cause or scope of the issues, and some users reported receiving error messages when trying to sign in.
