Twitch Updates Sexual Content Guidelines to Allow 'Artistic Nudity'
The changes come in response to the 'topless meta' controversy, with certain erotic dances also now permitted if properly labeled.
- Twitch has updated its sexual content guidelines to allow 'artistic nudity' in streams, as long as it is labeled appropriately.
- The move comes after the platform faced backlash over the 'topless meta', where streamers appeared to be nude but were not breaking Twitch's terms of service.
- Under the new rules, content that 'deliberately highlights breasts, buttocks or pelvic region', even when fully clothed, is allowed if it is properly labeled.
- Erotic dances that involve disrobing or disrobing gestures, such as strip teases, are also allowed if they are labeled.
- However, streams labeled with 'Drugs, Intoxication, or Excessive Tobacco Use; Violent and Graphic Depictions; Gambling; and/or Sexual Themes' will no longer be allowed on Twitch’s home page.
