Twice-Convicted Killer Charged with Attempted Murder of Kristin Smart's Convicted Murderer

Jason Richard Budrow, a twice-convicted killer, has been charged with attempted murder for attacking fellow inmate Paul Flores, who was convicted for the murder of Kristin Smart.
Budrow allegedly slashed Flores' neck with a 'manufactured weapon' inside Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga on August 23.
Flores was hospitalized but returned to the prison two days later.
Budrow is serving life terms for strangling a girlfriend in 2010 and the 2021 strangling of a Mule Creek State Prison cellmate, serial killer Roger Reece Kibbe, known as the 'I-5 Strangler'.
Budrow's arraignment is scheduled for January 8.
