TV Presenter Kate Garraway's Husband, Derek Draper, Dies After Long Battle with Covid

Garraway thanks public for support, takes indefinite leave from TV and radio work

Derek Draper, husband of TV presenter Kate Garraway, has died at the age of 56 after living with extreme complications from Covid for nearly four years.
Draper, a former political adviser and author, was one of the UK’s longest-suffering Covid patients, spending 13 months in hospital after testing positive in March 2020.
Despite being Covid-free by early June, his body had undergone significant damage and he had been re-admitted several times to hospital over the past four years.
Garraway has thanked the public for their support, calling the messages of comfort an 'extraordinary comfort' during this time of grief.
Garraway is taking an indefinite leave of absence from her TV and radio work.
