TV Host Débora Estrella Among Two Killed in Nuevo León Small-Plane Crash

  • The light aircraft went down around 18:50 in the Laderas/Riveras Interpuerto area inside Parque Industrial Ciudad Mitras in García, Nuevo León.
  • Authorities identified the victims as Débora Estrella, 43, a Multimedios and Milenio presenter, and pilot Bryan Ballesteros Argueta, who both died at the scene.
  • Protección Civil reported the site was secured, chemical retardant was applied, and the wreckage was repositioned overnight to recover the bodies, with support from state and municipal teams, Bomberos, Fiscalía, pericial units, AFAC, SEDENA and the Guardia Nacional.
  • Investigators have not determined a cause, with active lines of inquiry including potential mechanical failure or pilot error as witness videos showed low-altitude flying before the crash.
  • Officials indicated the aircraft was linked to a flight school in Mazatlán, and no injuries or damage on the ground were reported.
