TV Auctioneer Charles Hanson Acquitted of Domestic Abuse Charges

A Derby Crown Court jury unanimously cleared Charles Hanson of all allegations of coercive control and assault against his wife after a three-week trial.

Charles Hanson, known for his appearances on Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip, was found not guilty of all charges, including coercive control and two counts of assault.
The allegations included claims of physical abuse spanning from 2015 to 2023, which Hanson denied, stating he was controlled and left 'a beaten and broken man' by his wife.
Jurors deliberated for around four and a half hours before delivering the unanimous not guilty verdicts on all charges.
Rebecca Hanson had accused her husband of incidents such as putting her in a headlock while pregnant, pushing her, and scratching her during disputes, which the jury ultimately rejected.
After the verdict, Hanson expressed relief, calling the legal process a 'tormentuous time' and stating he was eager to move forward with his life.
