Overview
- The €2.8 million Pont de la Fallereta reopened June 30, ending detours of over 35 minutes for more than 400 Altury residents.
- Upon final completion the structure will deliver three times the hydraulic capacity of the original bridge to withstand future inundations.
- Anti-flood adaptations during reconstruction included widened foundations, rock revetments and geotextile slope consolidation.
- Construction faced challenges from variable inflows from the Forata reservoir and was coordinated with the Confederación Hidrográfica del Júcar to prevent delays.
- The reopening is the first of about ten bridges in the Ribera region being restored under a €49.2 million flood-response plan by the Generalitat and Diputación.
