Turquoise Alert Issued Statewide for Missing Mesa Teen Yolyn Hermios

Police report no breakthrough, with Arizona’s new Emily’s Law alert calling for public tips.

  • Yolyn Hermios, 16, was last seen around 6:50 p.m. on Nov. 1 near Dobson and Broadway roads in west Mesa and has not been heard from since.
  • Mesa police say several leads have been received but none have produced results, and the search remains active under the statewide alert.
  • Hermios is described as a Pacific Islander, about 4 feet 2 inches tall and 110 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair with faded green highlights, last seen in a black shirt, red shorts and black shoes.
  • Officials activated a Turquoise Alert, only the second statewide use of the system created this year as Emily’s Law to speed recovery of missing endangered persons under 65, including tribal members.
