Turkish Airlines Seals Order for Up to 75 Boeing 787s, Eyes 150 More 737 MAX Jets

The narrowbody plan remains contingent on engine agreements with CFM, keeping part of the package unfinalized.

Overview

  • The widebody deal includes 35 787-9s, 15 787-10s and options for 25 more, with deliveries scheduled from 2029 to 2034.
  • Turkish Airlines says it completed talks with Boeing for 100 737 MAX 8/10 jets with options for 50 more, to be placed after negotiations with CFM International conclude.
  • The airline reported ongoing discussions with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace for engines, spare engines and maintenance services for the new aircraft.
  • The announcement followed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House the previous day.
  • Boeing said the Turkish 787 order will support more than 123,000 U.S. jobs, and the combined Boeing commitments would nearly double the carrier’s Boeing fleet if fully executed.
