- In 2024, Spain recorded 433,357 deaths, with 218,746 among men and 214,801 among women.
- Tumors accounted for 26.6% of fatalities compared with 26.1% from circulatory diseases, and circulatory deaths fell by 2.4% from the previous year.
- Cancer of the lung and bronchus led tumor deaths with 23,239 cases (up 1.9%), and for the first time lung cancer fatalities in women (6,679) surpassed those from breast cancer.
