Overview

  • Direct flights will resume on Mondays and Thursdays from 26 March 2026, offering a five-and-a-half-hour journey between East Midlands Airport and Sharm El Sheikh
  • The route, last operated in 2023, was previously halted after a 2015 terror attack and then again by Covid-19 travel restrictions
  • East Midlands Airport managing director Steve Griffiths endorsed the decision as customer interest in the Red Sea resort continues to grow
  • Sharm El Sheikh attracts British tourists with 35 km of sandy beaches, world-class scuba diving and year-round sunshine
  • TUI will offer all-inclusive packages starting at £1,237 per person and introduce a bespoke Paddy & Scott’s coffee blend across its fleet
