Overview
- Substitute judge Lucas Alfredo Taboada issued the November 4 injunction barring CCC from publishing content that “injures, discredits, tergiversates or distorts” the actions of provincial magistrates for six months.
- The order covers CCC’s TV channel, radio, digital platforms and social media across Tucumán, with violations subject to sanctions for judicial disobedience.
- The measure was requested by provincial prosecutor Edmundo Jiménez, and a related criminal investigation led by fiscal Daniel Sosa Piñero targets CCC owner Gustavo Olarte for alleged offenses including disturbance of lawful authority, threats and incitement to collective violence.
- The ruling was issued without a prior hearing, drawing condemnation from FOPEA, the Tucumán Press Association and constitutional lawyers who warn it constitutes prior restraint and sets a dangerous precedent.
- The court instructed Enacom to monitor compliance, Governor Osvaldo Jaldo said judicial remedies exist to challenge the decision, and Adepa added a formal repudiation on November 11.
