Overview

  • TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu laid the foundation stone on July 17 for a 45-tonne LPG storage facility on Tirumala’s Outer Ring Road.
  • Under a new 30-year pact, IOCL will continue supplying LPG to the temple complex after two decades of partnership.
  • The ₹8.13 crore storage plant will occupy 1.86 acres, feature advanced safety systems and is slated for completion within six months.
  • On-site LPG storage for laddu prasadam and daily Annadanam cooking is projected to save TTD about ₹1.5 crore annually.
  • IOCL has also begun constructing a ₹12.05 crore biogas plant near the dumping yard to process 40 tonnes of wet waste into roughly 1,000 kg of biogas per day.
