TTC Employee Stabbed at TMU Subway Station, Suspect Arrested

Police investigation continues with a large presence at the station.

  • Emergency calls came in shortly after 1 p.m. reporting a stabbing inside the downtown TMU (Dundas) station at Yonge and Dundas.
  • Paramedics said the TTC employee suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, and the union reported the worker was stabbed in the arm.
  • Officers arrested a male suspect at the scene, and he was also taken to hospital with injuries described as serious and not life-threatening.
  • TMU station was closed with trains bypassing and 505 streetcars not stopping as police secured the area and gathered evidence.
  • TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali called the attack unacceptable and referenced earlier plans announced the same day to increase officer deployment on the transit system.
