Despite competition, TSMC assures of 'healthy' growth in 2024

  • TSMC, the world's leading semiconductor manufacturer, is developing 1.4nm chips, confusingly named A14, which are expected to arrive around 2027.
  • The company's 2nm chips, expected to be used in the iPhone 17 Pro, are on track for mass production in 2025.
  • TSMC has already demonstrated its 2nm chip prototypes to its biggest customers, including Apple and Nvidia.
  • TSMC's chairman, Dr. Mark Liu, has assured the media of the company's 'healthy' growth in 2024, despite competition from Samsung's similar products.
  • Despite the ongoing development of these smaller processes, TSMC has not disclosed when it plans to start high-volume manufacturing of the A14 chips.
