TSE Sets Thursday Review of MBL’s ‘Missão’ Party Registration

Overview

• Relator Minister André Mendonça placed the case on the TSE agenda for Oct. 30.
• Electoral authorities have validated roughly 590,000 supporter signatures, about 42,900 above the legal threshold of 547,042.
• The Electoral Prosecutor’s Office and the PGR issued favorable opinions after confirming the administrative requirements were met.
• Registration will only be completed if the TSE approves the party’s statute and the filing of its national directing body.
• If authorized, Missão would be the first party registered since 2019 and could participate in 2026, use number 14, and plans to run its own candidates including a presidential bid.
