Overview
- The Tribunal Superior Eleitoral’s Divulgação de Candidaturas e Contas Eleitorais platform shows 354 registered candidates from 21 parties vying for the 46 seats in the Assembleia Legislativa do Ceará.
- Media outlets on Sept. 25–26 reproduced party-by-party rosters and ballot numbers drawn from the TSE database to give voters access to full slates and candidate information.
- Several parties filed big slates that concentrate the contest: Republicanos submitted 33 names, PSDB 32, União Brasil 29 and the PT 24.
- Brazil’s electoral law requires parties to allocate at least 30% of proportional candidacies to one gender, and outlets used TSE data to report gender splits within each party list.
- Candidacies remain provisional until judicial decisions, appeals or formal withdrawals are resolved ahead of the October 4 vote, so entries on the published lists can still change.
