Overview
- The national display of presidential results stopped for about 50 minutes on Sunday when 64.81% of data had been shown, a pause the TSE says came from a "contenção no processamento de dados" in the module that builds the Brazil-wide view.
- The TSE and its technology arm said apuração (vote counts at each urn) and totalização (summing of results) were preserved, that state-level result pages kept updating, and that the interruption affected only the public dissemination layer.
- The court’s IT department opened an investigation and is developing a new dissemination routine, while operational processing of first-turn files began October 4 and is scheduled to conclude by October 11 to fix Autoatendimento entries that showed "faltou."
- Voters who missed the first turn retain the right to vote in the second turn, but those outside their voting district who did not request vote-in-transit by the August 20 deadline must justify absences on election day or within the statutory window.
- To regularize their status voters must justify absence within 60 days of each turn (first-turn deadline December 3, second-turn deadline January 8) or pay a R$3.51 fine per missed turn using e-Título, Autoatendimento or cartórios; three consecutive unpaid absences can lead to title cancellation.
