- Adults who arrive at U.S. airport checkpoints without a REAL ID or other acceptable identification must use TSA ConfirmID for $45 starting Feb. 1.
- The fee can be paid in advance at tsa.gov/ConfirmID with Pay.gov using a bank account, debit or credit card, Venmo or PayPal, and cash will not be accepted.
- Payment covers a 10-day travel window, and travelers must show the Pay.gov receipt at the checkpoint to complete the identity check.
- TSA says the verification typically takes 10 to 15 minutes but can exceed 30 minutes, so noncompliant travelers risk delays or missed flights if they have not prepaid.
