TSA Expands 'Families on the Fly' and Honor Lanes to More U.S. Airports

Families on the Fly opens dedicated screening lanes at four airports, expands military Honor lanes to 11 hubs.

Overview

  • Dedicated family lanes are now operational at Orlando International, Charlotte Douglas, John Wayne and Daniel K. Inouye airports, allowing parents with children to bypass standard security queues without PreCheck enrollment.
  • Honor Lanes reserved for uniformed military members and their families have rolled out at 11 major airports, with free PreCheck for Gold Star families and reduced fees for military spouses.
  • A $15 discount on TSA PreCheck enrollment through IDEMIA applies when two or more family members sign up together, and TSA is deploying mobile PreCheck units at military bases.
  • John Wayne Airport enhanced its family amenities by installing a Mamava lactation pod near Terminal C baggage claim and opening a new play area for young travelers.
  • TSA plans to extend the Families on the Fly and Honor Lane programs to additional airports through late summer and is evaluating further security-screening policy updates.
