Truth Social and Truth+ allow users to convert gems into Cronos token, dropping plans for proprietary token

Overview

  • Paying Patriot Package users can now convert earned “Truth gems” into Cronos (CRO) using Crypto.com’s wallet infrastructure.
  • Premium additions include editing posts, scheduling, server-side drafts synced across devices, and version histories, with search and group titles also upgraded.
  • Trump Media closed a deal to acquire about 684.4 million CRO (roughly 2% of circulating supply) in a cash-and-stock mix, with assets held at Crypto.com Custody under lockup and eligible for staking.
  • The company and partners outlined a SPAC-backed vehicle, Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, targeting a $6.4 billion CRO-centered digital-asset treasury.
  • CRO’s price jumped more than 4% immediately after the announcement, briefly touching about $0.27 before retracing.
