Trump's Second Term Plans: Sweeping Policy Overhaul Including Mass Deportations, Tariffs, and Mass Firings

Agenda Targets 'Deep State', Immigration, Trade, and Gender-Affirming Care

  • Donald Trump, if elected for a second term, plans a sweeping set of policy goals that would represent a dramatic government overhaul, including mass deportation operations, a new Muslim ban, tariffs on all imported goods, and mass firings of tens of thousands of career employees.
  • Trump aims to 'totally obliterate the deep state' by stripping civil service protections from employees, allowing them to be fired. He would accomplish this by reissuing a 2020 executive order known as 'Schedule F'.
  • Trump pledges to 'immediately stop the invasion of our southern border' and end illegal immigration. This includes directing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to undertake the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.
  • Trump's agenda includes a system of tariffs of perhaps 10% on most foreign goods, with penalties increasing if trade partners manipulate their currencies or engage in other unfair trading practices. Much of this agenda focuses on China, with a proposed four-year plan to phase out Chinese imports of essential goods.
  • Trump's plans also include a crackdown on gender-affirming care, declaring that hospitals and health care providers offering transitional hormones or surgery no longer meet federal health and safety standards and will be blocked from receiving federal funds. He would push Congress to prohibit hormonal or surgical intervention for transgender minors in all 50 states.
