Donald Trump's media company, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), has demanded an apology from Jimmy Kimmel over a comment he made on his show, claiming that Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, had lost $73 million since its launch.
Kimmel, after checking TMTG's filing with the SEC, corrected his statement, saying that Truth Social had 'only' lost $31.6 million.
TMTG's letter to Kimmel demanded that ABC 'completely retract all versions of the segment' and 'publish a mutually agreeable apology… acknowledging that the segment was false and has been retracted… Unless these steps are taken immediately, TMTG will take swift legal action to uphold its rights and reputation.'
Kimmel responded to the demand with a sarcastic apology, saying: 'I'm deeply sorry you're so bad at running companies.'
Kimmel also pointed out the irony of Trump demanding a retraction for reporting the value of his company incorrectly, considering he is currently on trial for reporting the value of his own company incorrectly.
