• New York’s Board of Elections officially certified Zohran Mamdani as the Democratic nominee after he secured a 12-point victory over Andrew Cuomo in the June primary.
• President Trump declared on national media that if Mamdani blocks federal immigration enforcement he must be arrested and even deported despite his U.S. citizenship.
• On Truth Social, Trump labeled Mamdani a “communist nutjob” and vowed to use all available executive powers to prevent him from “destroying” New York.
• Mamdani, born in Uganda to Indian parents and now a U.S. citizen, denounced the threats as intimidation and said he will not retreat from his immigration agenda.
