Trump praised Gingrich’s past service and academic background in his announcement on Truth Social.
Her husband, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, has been a prominent supporter of Trump throughout his political career.
Other diplomatic nominees announced include Mauricio Claver-Carone as a special envoy for Latin America and Ken Howery as ambassador to Denmark.
