Trump Revives Presidential Fitness Test for Schoolchildren

  • The initiative restores the original 1966 fitness assessment, which was replaced in 2012 by a health-focused Youth Fitness Program, to address ‘‘crisis levels’’ of childhood obesity, inactivity, chronic disease, and poor nutrition.
  • Trump hosted a signing ceremony at the White House alongside athletes including Harrison Butker, Annika Sorenstam, Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Lawrence Taylor to champion the return of competitive fitness standards.
