Reports suggest Patel’s potential appointment could face significant Senate confirmation challenges due to his controversial statements and calls for retribution against Trump’s critics in government and media.
Other candidates, such as Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, are also under consideration for leadership roles, including FBI director, while former Rep. Mike Rogers is reportedly no longer in the running.
