Overview
- President Donald Trump published an image on Truth Social of a proposed all-black U.S. Space Force uniform that was created with artificial intelligence.
- The design shown includes a belt, knee-high boots and a peaked cap and was described by Trump as inspired by the film Starship Troopers and reminiscent of Darth Vader.
- Users across social media compared the uniform's look to Nazi SS attire and criticized the visual symbolism in large numbers.
- The Space Force and Defense Department have not confirmed the image as an official uniform, and the picture was not released through military channels.
- The post follows Trump’s late‑August executive order creating a U.S. Space Academy, and the episode raises questions about imagery, civilian oversight, and how AI will be used in future policy proposals.
