Overview

  • On June 16, the Trump Organization launched Trump Mobile as a mobile virtual network operator, leveraging 5G service from AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile USA under a trademark license.
  • Its flagship “47 Plan” costs $47.45 per month and includes unlimited talk, text and data along with telemedicine, roadside assistance and free calls to more than 100 countries.
  • The gold-toned T1 Phone, manufactured in the United States, is slated for release in August at a price of $499.
  • Trump Mobile operates through a licensing agreement, with the Trump Organization neither manufacturing the device nor directly providing the network service.
  • Ethical scrutiny has surfaced over potential conflicts of interest given President Trump’s authority to influence FCC regulations overseeing the new service.
