Trump's legal team cited presidential immunity as grounds for dismissal, arguing that criminal proceedings would interfere with his duties as president following his January 20 inauguration.
The case has been on hold since Trump's election victory in November, with the judge postponing sentencing indefinitely while considering motions from both sides.
Trump's attorneys also referenced a Truth Social post by Senator John Fetterman, who criticized the case and suggested a pardon, to bolster their claims of political bias in the prosecution.
